North Oxford
A Planning consent was achieved on appeal to turn a Victorian detaced house in the North Oxford conservation area containing three flats into one containing six two bedroom flats. The house was a extensively remodelled and extended to the side and to the rear to provide south facing living rooms for every flat. Each flat had its own garden space with one flat having a conservatory dining room space off an open plan kitchen. The flats has purpose made hardwood kitchens along with a pair of bathrooms. The loft was remodelled and extended to provide a south outlook for second floor flats. The main stairs had to be reinstated in a traditional style as did the front porch and front dormer. Latterly the flat owner with the conservatory has installed a rather unsatisfactory solid roof on the conservatory.
